Health and Safety Mission Statement

Our Policy is to provide and maintain safe healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our permanent employees, and other staff who may be contracted to work for us and for all other Contractors / Sub Contractors working with us on any particular site.

To provide such information, training and supervision as they need for this purpose. We also accept our responsibility for the health and safety of our site operatives and other people who may be affected by our activities.
Our directors, senior management and staff have a committed approach to Health and Safety matters and for passing it on to all, the workforce working within our own offices and on site.

We ensure that all personnel are fully apprised of the implications of the various Health and Safety Acts including their responsibilities whether working in the Companies offices, visiting third parties, working on Building Sites or working in occupied premises.

Our aim is to ensure that all accidents are prevented and we ensure that all our workforce adopt the HSC Principles of Prevention and Protection.

We will ensure that all employees are acquainted with the nature and safe operation of the equipment they are asked to use and employees will not be asked or expected to take any risks whatsoever in association with the execution of their duties
We will ensure that all work carried out in the Companies offices, visiting third parties, working on Satellite Sites or working in occupied premises is carried out in accordance with current Health arid Safety Legislation. In particular:

All persons at their commencement of work with the company will be required to read and understand our Health and Safety Policy procedures and Method Statement and carry out all works in accordance with its requirements

All persons during their time on the site will be expected to participate in the improvement of Health and Safety on site by making us aware of any potential dangers, hazards or risks and by making suggestions to us.

Any persons under the influence of drink or drugs will be immediately dismissed from site.

All work persons are instructed that in the event of any injury to themselves which results from an accident whilst on site (even if the injury does not stop them working) they are responsible for ensuring that the injury is properly treated and protected and that the Accident Report Book is properly completed.

All persons shall comply with the 'Principal Contractors instructions on the safe disposal of surplus materials, waste etc. In accordance with the relevant environmental legislation

The allocation of duties for safety matters and the particular arrangements which we will make to implement the Policy are set out in the Health and Safety organisation document

Our policy will be kept up to date, particularly as the business changes in nature and size. To ensure this, the Policy will be reviewed every year.

This policy will apply to our working premises, which shall deem to be either our permanent office address, site office, or within a particular building site.

A copy of this Health and safety Policy Document will be handed to each employee and prior to the commencement of each particular contract a Health and safety review meeting will take place with all senior personnel involved or likely to be involved in the project. On certain larger -Projects it may be necessary to adjust the scope of this Policy to correspond with a third party.

All persons working within our premises will be provided with such relevant information and instruction as is provided to our employees.

We will ensure that safety induction training and continuation of future training takes place with all new employees

We will maintain an Employer's Liability Insurance and the Certificate will be permanently displayed.

We operate a non-smoking Policy throughout our premises.

All accidents whether occurring in the office, or at third parties offices or on site will be recorded in an accident book. In compliance with RIDDOR

We will maintain a separate quick reference file listing all permanent and temporary staff, names, addresses and telephone numbers and names and telephone numbers of whom to contact in the case of an emergency.

Ensure that all Employees are aware of their duties and responsibilities under Section 7 of the Health and Safety at work Act 1974 to take care of themselves and to cooperate with others to assist in maintaining standards of Health and Safety.

Ensure that all employees are aware of their additional duty for assessing risks not only to themselves but also to other people in their working environment.

Ensure that all employees are acquainted with the nature and safe operation of the equipment they are asked to use.

Ensure that employees are not asked or expected to take any risks whatsoever in association with the execution of their duties.

Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities to co-operate with the company's health and safety manager to achieve a healthy and safe workplace and to take reasonable care of themselves and others.

Ensure that all employees are aware of their duty to ensure that when they notice a Health and Safety problem or a likely problem that it is bought to the attention of the health and safety manager.

Regular Consultation will take place between Management and Employees. As required under the (Consultation with Employees) regulations 1996. Employees will be provided with such information as is necessary to enable them to participate fully and effectively in any consultation. Such information will be provided but not limited by the following means:

Staff Meetings
Conversations with individuals
Information displayed on notice boards
Letters attached to salary slips
